Megacity Air Pollution Studies (MAPS)

Call for Papers for the special issue "Megacity Air Pollution Studies (MAPS)"

Manuscript submission deadline: October 1, 2017.

The Editorial Office of Aerosol and Air Quality Research (AAQR) would like to call for papers for a special issue with the theme "Megacity Air Pollution Studies (MAPS)". Papers contributed from MAPS-Seoul 2015 campaign and other papers relevant to megacity air quality are welcome. All accepted papers will be collected in a single volume as a special issue.

The MAPS special issue will highlight recent scientific findings from megacity air quality research in many parts of the world. It will focus primarily on the mechanisms and drivers to control high ozone and aerosol events in megacities. It will address the recent advances in precursor emissions inventories, chemical transformations, and forecasting models with sets of field observations, including aircraft measurements and remote sensing applications. These research outcomes will be scientific evidence of the current status and future air quality trends, and greatly support air quality managers and policy makers to identify feasible air quality policies and to design practical emission reduction plans. Also, underlying scientific understanding of chemical, physical and meteorological processes governing air quality in one megacity will be applicable or compared to megacities in other parts of world.

The Guidelines for Authors for submitting a manuscript can be found on the website of AAQR (http://aaqr.org). The deadline for manuscript submission is October 1, 2017. Manuscripts submitted after the deadline are considered only when the space is available. The targeted publication date is April 2018.
